Who We Are

The Friendly Church on the Hill

Angeles Mesa Presbyterian Church (AMPC) of Los Angeles, Calif., was founded on March 29, 1925. Thirty-eight people attended the first Worship Service that was held in a storeroom. In June 1925, the women of the church met at the residence of Rev. & Mrs. Theodore Parker Smith and organized the Women’s Association. On March 11, 1926, the congregation gave the Session authority to buy the northwest corner of Mullen and 54th Streets to be home to the church site where it stands today. We are a member of the Synod of the Presbyterian Pacific Church located in View Park, Calif., between Culver City and South Los Angeles. We are known as the “friendly church on the hill” for the spirit and love of our congregation nestled in the rolling hills overlooking Downtown Los Angeles.
